LeAnn Rimes announced one day after her 30th birthday in August that she had checked into a treatment facility to deal with emotional issues and anxiety, it may have seemed surprising to some. But in her first post-rehab interview, the country singer admits she is no stranger to a shrink's couch.
"I've been in therapy my whole life," she says "I like going. I like being able to have that third-party input and someone to listen that has nothing to do with your life. Everyone has an opinion of how I am and how I should be, and now I'm focusing on how I want to be."
Although negative comments that Rimes was getting from strangers over Twitter and Facebook had a hand in sending her into treatment, she's back on the social networking sites .
"I think it's really hard to deal with Twitter and Facebook and all these social media outlets," Rimes, who is recording a new album Spitfire, tells the newspaper."It's hard to take it day after day of reading and seeing things that someone you don't even know says about you. As much as you said you don't want it to penetrate, it does, because you're human."
